Choose by the type of equipment. A brand name does not mean a different item, but a walking pad and a full treadmill do.
Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

A pickup day is not an exact arrival window. Tell us before booking about a shared loading area, restricted outdoor access or equipment whose size or setup you are unsure how to select.

Book a day you can be ready.

Place the booked equipment in an accessible outdoor spot. Keep any separated parts together, add a photo and clear location notes to your order, and leave the approach clear.

Exercise equipment is not named in the Village guide or on the hauler's Oak Lawn page, so the 50 pound bulky item line is what decides it. The guide's examples are mattresses, box springs, small tables, chairs and other small furniture, which fits a folding bench or a set of hand weights, while a treadmill, an elliptical or a weight rack goes over that line and has to be scheduled and priced by the hauler.
City cost & eligibility
Equipment over 50 pounds leaves the no additional charge bulk collection, and the Village guide says customers contact Flood Brothers to arrange the collection with charges that may apply. Because machines are not listed in either source, treat the fee and the collection day as something the hauler confirms, not a published rate.
When & how
Call Flood Brothers at least 24 hours ahead before setting a machine out, and ask whether the pickup lands on your refuse day or a separately scheduled day.
Get it ready
Take the machine apart only as far as the hauler asks, keep the console, belt and frame parts together, tape loose cables, and never leave a treadmill or bench blocking the sidewalk or the alley.
Out after 5 p.m. the night before, in before 6 a.m.
Refuse, recycling and yard waste are collected on the same day, once a week, Monday through Friday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., and the Village guide asks for material at the curb after 5 p.m. the day before but before 6 a.m. on the collection day. Your collection time may differ from the previous hauler's, so the curb window matters. Six holidays delay the rest of that week by one day: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.
A household with a piece of furniture or a machine over 50 pounds, a mattress set heavier than the bulk line, or a large volume of material that the weekly truck will not take.
Cost & conditions
The Village guide says residents can contract individually with Flood Brothers for extra large items and large volumes such as construction or move out debris, and that the hauler sets prices and availability. Nothing is published, so the quote is the number that matters.
Arrange it
Call Flood Brothers at least 24 hours ahead, describe the item or the volume, and ask whether it goes on the refuse day or a separately scheduled day.
This is a private contract with the hauler rather than part of the quarterly Village refuse service, and it does not cover debris a contractor generates on a job, which stays the contractor's responsibility.

Dropcurb pickup starts outside. Arrange indoor carrying, stairs and any dismantling needed to get your equipment out before pickup. Check the moving instructions for your exact model and arrange suitable help. We load and haul away the equipment from an accessible outdoor spot.
Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?+
Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.
How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?+
Enter the combined weight in pounds for your dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Booking rounds that total up to the next 10 lb unit: 25 lb uses three units. Stands, racks and benches are separate items and do not include the loose weights. Add each one that is going.
Can a treadmill go out with the trash in Oak Lawn?+
