Book the unwanted bags and boxes left after packing. Choose an available pickup day before you hand back the keys, and arrange to have them outside.

Count each trash bag or filled household box. Books and media go by the box. Clothes, bedding and shoes go by the filled bag. Toys packed together have a Box of toys choice. Ask us about unusually heavy or oversized bags and boxes first.
Empty cardboard is a different choice: choose single empty boxes or tied bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Compacted bales have their own weight-based choices and require loading-dock access. A Storage bin choice covers the empty bin itself; ask us to confirm the contents if they are going too.

Warren has no separate bulky item programme because oversized material is part of the weekly service. The guideline says to set anything too large for a container neatly beside the rubbish containers, and the Recycling Center backs that up by accepting furniture and household refuse from residents. Households that keep overfilling one cart can add another cart from the Sanitation Department, and carts are replaced free when the city damages them.
The handoff matters
Refuse and compost go to the grass at the curb by 6 a.m. or no earlier than 6 p.m. the evening before the scheduled collection, and until then the carts and bags stay at the side of the house or in the rear yard. The carts have to be three feet apart with the lids closed and nothing protruding from the top, and a compost pile is placed five feet from the rest of the garbage. When a holiday falls in the week, collection runs a day late for the rest of that week.

Carpets and padding are cut, rolled and tied securely in four foot lengths. A refrigerator or freezer is emptied and its doors removed, with the freon left in place. An air conditioner or dehumidifier is different: the freon has to be removed by a licensed refrigerant recovery or heating and cooling company and a sticker proving the work has to be attached to the appliance before the crew can collect it.
