Mattresses and box springs

Accepted with preparation

Mattresses and box springs are accepted year round at the city Recycling Center for a per piece fee, and Dem-Con in Blaine and the city's discounted curbside pickup take them as well.

City cost & eligibility
The Recycling Center charges one price per piece for a twin through king mattress or box spring, less for a crib mattress or a thin topper and more for a thick topper, and an adjustable bed is accepted for a fee within that published bed range. Certified Recycling charges by mattress size on the curbside pickup, with a box spring priced separately and the city covering the trip charge while promotional funds last. Dem-Con Blaine charges one price per mattress or box spring piece. Confirm the route and the current price before you set anything out.
When & how
Recycling Center, 1827 111th Avenue NW: April through September Tuesday and Thursday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Wednesday 1 to 7 p.m.; October through March Tuesday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; closed Sunday, Monday and holidays. Certified Recycling picks up at the curb by appointment at 952-894-1448. Dem-Con Blaine, 3280 99th Ct. NE, is open Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Get it ready
Load beds neatly back to front in the mattress container near the exit and pay at the cashier building before you leave. Remove the fabric from a topper, roll it up and tie it tightly. For an adjustable bed, take the plastic air support out and put it in the trash. Keep the items dry, because a soaked or excessively wet mattress, box spring or furniture item carries an added charge at Dem-Con and at curbside pickup.

Arrange a large-item pickup with the hauler you already use

Coon Rapids uses open hauling, so you choose one of five licensed haulers: Ace Solid Waste, Curbside Waste, Republic Services, Walter's Recycling or Waste Management. Every hauler provides trash and recycling, and the city assigns each neighborhood a collection day so trucks come down the street once a week. Ask your hauler about a large-item pickup and its price, and keep that arrangement separate from your regular cart collection.

Cost & conditions
Prices are published for public drop-off at the Blaine location and are subject to change, with solid waste taxes added and a possible fuel charge. Certified Recycling curbside bulky pickup

Mattresses and box springs, furniture, appliances, electronics and exercise machines collected from the curb by appointment through the city's promotion.

Cost & conditions
A per-item price applies, and there is a single-truck charge on top of it. The city covers the trip charge while promotional funds last, and the covered amount is described on the city page as a forty dollar value, while the published price page and the current price sheet state different figures for the truck charge. Payment is cash, check or card, and a credit or debit payment adds a processing fee. Confirm the total when you schedule.
Arrange it
Call 952-894-1448 and tell the company you are calling about the Coon Rapids promotion, then book a pickup time. The company is at 14305 Ewing Ave. S., Burnsville, MN 55306, and answers the phone Monday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The promotion covers the trip charge only and runs while funds last, so the per-item price and the single-truck charge still apply. A mattress, box spring or furniture item found soaked or excessively wet carries an added per-unit charge, and a credit or debit payment adds a processing fee.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Mattress removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Coon Rapids.

How much does mattress removal cost in Coon Rapids?

The price depends on the mattress size you choose. A queen mattress is $99 as the first item and $30 as an additional item. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Add any box spring or frame separately, then review your total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can I book same-day mattress pickup in Coon Rapids?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout. Have the mattress outside and accessible according to your confirmation. Your booking is for a day rather than an exact arrival time, and we text you when your hauler is on the way.

Is my box spring or bed frame included in mattress removal?

The mattress price covers the mattress only. Add your box spring, bed frame or adjustable base separately if those are going too. Choose the size and type that match each item. The combined price appears before booking.

Will you carry my mattress downstairs or out of my apartment?

Dropcurb starts outside. You arrange to move the mattress out of your apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load it and take it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Check your building’s access rules before arranging the move outside.

Can you pick up my old mattress when my new one arrives?

You can choose an offered pickup day around your replacement delivery. First check whether the retailer already includes old-mattress removal, and arrange who will bring it outside if needed. Dropcurb books a pickup day, not the retailer’s delivery window. Contact us before booking if access is limited to a short time.

How much does it cost to get rid of a mattress in Coon Rapids?

The Recycling Center charges one price per piece for a twin through king mattress or box spring, with a lower rate for a crib mattress or a thin topper, Certified Recycling charges by mattress size on the discounted curbside pickup, and Dem-Con Blaine charges per piece for public drop-off. Confirm the route and the current price before you load the mattress.Official guidance

Which hauler serves my Coon Rapids address?

Coon Rapids uses open hauling, so you choose from five licensed haulers: Ace Solid Waste, Curbside Waste, Republic Services, Walter's Recycling and Waste Management. Every hauler provides trash and recycling, and the city assigns each neighborhood a collection day so trucks come down your street once a week. Contact the hauler directly to set up service.Official guidance

Who can use the Coon Rapids Recycling Center?

The Recycling Center is open to Anoka County residents, and clean white Styrofoam is accepted from anyone in Minnesota because that program is funded by a state grant. A limited number of programs may be available to local small businesses case by case, and the site has no public trash bin, so anything that is refused travels home with you.Official guidance

Where do paint, gasoline and other household chemicals go?

Products marked caution, warning, danger or poison go to the Anoka County Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 3230 101st Avenue NE in Blaine, which is free for residents of Anoka and several neighboring metro counties and does not accept appliances, electronics, tires or trash. Keep them out of the curbside carts and out of any bulky load.Official guidance
