The local disposal guide
West Valley City contracts its garbage, recycling and bulky waste services to ACE Recycling and Disposal, and every single-family home and duplex takes part in the garbage program. Garbage runs weekly with the cart out by 7 a.m., recycling is single stream every other week, and bulky waste is the route for couches, mattresses, appliances and carpet as long as everything is bagged, boxed or bundled within the size and weight limits. A FREON appliance needs a tag from an authorized company before it can be collected, grass clippings go in the garbage can rather than the bulky pile, and hazardous material, construction debris, glass and tires stay out of every curbside route. Electronics and household chemicals go to the Salt Lake County Landfill, with a free City electronics drop-off event each year. Dropcurb hauls residential items from addresses across West Valley City.
