The local disposal guide
Renton contracts its curbside collection to Republic Services, and large items leave two ways: a per item on-call bulky collection booked by phone, or the annual Clean Sweep extra garbage day, which takes up to ten units and two bulky items such as a mattress or a sofa at no additional charge. Appliances, electronics, recyclables, yard waste and hazardous items stay off the Clean Sweep set out, so a refrigerator or a television needs its own route. The King County Renton transfer station handles garbage, recyclables and mattresses on the self-haul side, while major appliances and televisions go to a station that recycles them.
