Broomfield is a consolidated city and county with a single contracted curbside programme. Waste Connections of Colorado collects trash every week and recycling every other week under the contract council approved in September 2024, and household large items have two published routes: a bulky item pickup at 25 dollars per item arranged with the hauler, or the free Spring Cleanup, which runs on four Saturdays each spring and takes furniture, mattresses, non-freon appliances, carpet, drywall, fencing and lightly stained or unpainted lumber in separate piles for recycling, waste and donation. Refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners are refused at Spring Cleanup, along with electronics, tires and concrete, so those take their own paths. Household chemicals can also go free year-round to the Boulder County Hazardous Material Management Facility at 1901 63rd St in Boulder, open Wednesday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., which does not accept electronics.
