Bedding is a bulk item, and a mattress is only collected once it is wrapped in plastic.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. One mattress or box spring counts as the single weekly bulk item included with the refuse service the household already pays for, with no separate charge for that piece when it is wrapped as required. Additional pieces are scheduled and charged directly by LRS.
When & how
Put the wrapped piece beside the trash cart on the regular collection day, or schedule extra pieces with LRS at least 24 hours in advance.
Get it ready
Wrap the mattress in plastic and tape it securely at every corner with no exposed surface, using mattress wrap or loose plastic that is fully secured. A box spring or a bed frame is named as its own example of a bulk item, so a full set is spread across weeks or scheduled as additional items.
One bulk item a week, and everything else by appointment
A single bulk item such as furniture, a bed frame or a mattress may sit next to the trash cart on the regular collection day. A second item, anything over 50 pounds, and any item needing extra labor or equipment has to be scheduled with LRS at least 24 hours ahead and is charged directly, and LRS will give a cost estimate for a special refuse collection.

Extra pickups are charged directly by LRS and no amount is published, so call 844-633-3577 at least 24 hours before the wanted date to schedule the collection and confirm the price.
Arrange it
Call LRS customer service, list the items, send a photo if the item is awkward or heavy, and pay the quoted amount before the items go to the curb.
An item that is not scheduled is left behind, and the single weekly bulk item is the only large item the ordinary collection takes without a call.
