Each bundle has to weigh less than 50 pounds, up to 10 rolls are allowed each service, and the sheet counts 10 rolls as 2 bulk items, which means a whole room of carpet can consume the entire collection allowance for that day.
The city's not allowed list is where a garage cleanout runs into trouble. Automobile and car parts including tires and rims, construction and remodeling debris including shingles and drywall, concrete, bricks and dirt, fencing, wood boards, paneling and wood pallets, gas-powered equipment, hot tubs, sheds, swing sets, trampolines, lawn gliders, pianos, picnic tables, pool tables, windows, glass doors, glass tabletops and glass curio cabinets are all refused. Mirrors and glass that are acceptable should be taped and secured so nothing breaks during collection.
Curbside compost runs from April 6, 2026 through December 18, 2026 and is picked up on the same day as regular trash by a separate truck. It has to be separated from household trash by 4 feet, because mixed compost and trash is not picked up. Branches are cut to 4 feet or less and no more than 3 inches in diameter, tied into bundles with up to 10 bundles a week, and the rest goes in compost bags or cans with a limit of 10 bags or 5 cans and no bag or can over 50 pounds, and no cardboard boxes or plastic bags.
