Couch & furniture removal in West Palm BeachCity collection Sofas, tables and chairs are named on the city's bulk item list, so furniture is collected at the curb once a week on the bulk day inside the three item limit, with a booked special pickup for a larger set. Furniture is part of the weekly bulk service, which carries no separately published rate, and the city charges only through the special pickup it arranges when a set exceeds three items. Because that charge is quoted by the office, the cost of a larger furniture set is confirmed with customer service before the pieces go out.

Mattress & bed removal in West Palm BeachCity collection Mattresses and box springs are named on the city's bulk item list, so a mattress or box spring goes out at the curb as a bulk item on the weekly bulk day and counts toward the three item limit. A mattress travels with the weekly bulk service, which has no separately published rate, and the only charge the city mentions is the fee for a special pickup when a set exceeds three items. Because that fee is quoted by the office, the cost for a larger set is confirmed with customer service first.

Appliances ride the weekly bulk service, which carries no separately published rate, and the city charges a quoted fee only for a special pickup beyond three items. A Freon unit has its own timing rule rather than its own published price, so the office confirms the arrangement and any charge before the unit is placed out.

Bags & household clutter in West Palm BeachCity collection The city runs residential household garbage collection and the yard waste and bulk services, with pickups scheduled Monday through Saturday and an interactive schedule for each address. Recycling is arranged differently: the bins come from the county Solid Waste Authority and the collection is run by Waste Pro, which the city publishes with its own number. The city publishes no residential collection rate of its own, and the recycling service is provided through the county authority and Waste Pro rather than the city, so the cost of a household's service is confirmed with the Solid Waste office on the city number and with the authority or Waste Pro for the recycling bin side.

The local disposal guide
West Palm Beach collects for itself, and its bulky route is unusually generous: single family homes put out up to three bulk items a week on their bulk day, and the city names the categories, so tables and chairs, sofas, gym equipment, mattresses and box springs, large and small appliances, and the electronics group of computers, laptops, monitors, printers, televisions, telephones, microwaves and game systems all travel the same truck. More than three items needs a scheduled special pickup priced by the office. Appliances come with two printed handling rules, doors off every large unit and glass doors taped diagonally, and a Freon unit such as a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner goes out only on the vegetation day, placed next to the vegetation pile and never mixed with it. Yard waste has its own pile rules, one pile of up to ten cubic yards with branches cut to four feet and stumps to a foot across, plus an annual vegetation amnesty before hurricane season that lifts the size limit. Construction material is not part of regular service at all, hazardous material is never collected, and both the city office and the county authority have their own lines for the streams they will not take.

The city runs residential household garbage collection and the yard waste and bulk services, with pickups scheduled Monday through Saturday and an interactive schedule for each address. Recycling is arranged differently: the bins come from the county Solid Waste Authority and the collection is run by Waste Pro, which the city publishes with its own number.
Single family homes get a weekly bulk collection with up to three items at the curb per bulk day, and the city names what counts: tables and chairs, gym equipment, household items, mattresses and box springs, large child's toys, barbecue grills, sofas and large or small appliances. More than three items needs a special pickup that is scheduled and charged.
Sofas, tables and chairs are named on the city's bulk item list, so furniture is collected at the curb once a week on the bulk day inside the three item limit, with a booked special pickup for a larger set.
Mattresses and box springs are named on the city's bulk item list, so a mattress or box spring goes out at the curb as a bulk item on the weekly bulk day and counts toward the three item limit.

Two handling rules apply, doors off every large appliance and every glass door taped diagonally corner to corner, and a Freon unit goes out only on the vegetation day.
West Palm Beach collects electronics at the curb as e-scrap inside the bulk service. The printed list covers computers, laptops, monitors, printer, scanner and fax machines, gaming systems, televisions, all telephones, VCR and DVD players and microwaves, so a television or computer does not need a separate county trip.
Construction material is not part of regular sanitation service in West Palm Beach. The city can collect it only on request at an additional fee, and material generated by a contractor or by a do it yourself project has to be taken to the county authority's landfill or a permitted facility by whoever generated it.
Gym equipment is named on the city's bulk item list, so a treadmill or weight machine is a bulk item in West Palm Beach, collected at the curb on the weekly bulk day and counted inside the three item limit.
Residential vegetation goes out in one pile of up to ten cubic yards, with leaves, grass and clippings bagged, branches cut to four feet and six inches across and stumps no wider than twelve inches. A pile over ten cubic yards is a violation subject to a fee, and once a year the city lifts the size limit entirely during the vegetation amnesty before hurricane season.
Household hazardous waste never goes at the curb in West Palm Beach, and the city says so in residents' terms: do not put household hazardous waste in the brown garbage cart. Palm Beach County residents drop it free at any of the Solid Waste Authority's seven Home Chemical and Recycling Centers, which sit at the county transfer stations and on the main campus at Jog Road, and the authority states plainly that there is no curbside collection for this material.
The handoff matters
A single family home can put up to three bulk items at the curb on its weekly bulk day, drawn from the city's named categories of tables and chairs, gym equipment, household items, mattresses and box springs, large child's toys, barbecue grills, sofas and large or small appliances. More than three items needs a special pickup scheduled for a fee in advance. Appliances go out with doors removed and every glass door taped diagonally from corner to corner, and a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner that holds Freon goes out only on the vegetation day, placed next to the vegetation pile and never mixed into it.
City yard waste and bulk rulesYard waste goes out as a single pile of up to ten cubic yards, roughly eighteen feet long, four feet wide and four feet high, in front of the home the vegetation came from the day before the scheduled pickup. Leaves, grass and small clippings are bagged, branches are cut to four feet and six inches across, stumps are no more than twelve inches across and stacked neatly, and wood, board and lumber are not vegetation. Keep the pile off water and gas meters, out of cardboard boxes and garbage containers, ten feet from obstructions, and never mix it with other items, because a pile over ten cubic yards is a violation subject to a fee.
City yard waste and bulk rulesThe bulk route refuses miscellaneous garbage that belongs in the household can, building materials, commercially generated waste, propane or water tanks and any kind of drum, vehicle equipment, wood fencing, decks and concrete, and moving boxes outside the one-time courtesy collection. Construction material is never collected as part of regular service, though the city can take it on request at an additional fee, and a contractor or homeowner has to dispose of project material at the county authority's landfill or a permitted facility. Hazardous material of any kind is not allowed, and the city names paint, pesticides, oil, batteries and propane tanks as examples.
City yard waste and bulk rulesCity solid waste servicesOnce a year, usually over a set number of days in April or May before hurricane season, the city runs a vegetation amnesty in which residential customers can put out unlimited yard waste for collection on their regular yard waste day at no charge, with the over-limit fee waived. The pile still has to be in front of the house, bagged clippings still apply, limbs are still cut to four feet and the pile still may not be mixed with other debris. The amnesty does not apply to commercial properties or landscape contractors, and a contractor that leaves its own yard waste out can cause the property owner to be assessed up to the published amount.

Yes. Sofas, tables and chairs are named on the city's bulk item list, so they are collected at the curb once a week on the bulk day, with up to three items per household. A set larger than three items needs a special pickup, which the city arranges for a fee through customer service or the public works email. Keep building materials and commercially generated waste out of the pile, because both are refused.Official guidance
Put it out as a bulk item on your weekly bulk day. The city names mattress and box springs on its bulk list, so a single family home can set up to three items at the curb on the bulk day, and a mattress counts as one of them. More than three items needs a special pickup arranged for a fee through customer service. Keep the mattress out of the vegetation pile, because yard waste may not be mixed with other items.Official guidance
Large and small appliances are bulk items and go out on the weekly bulk day, up to three items per household, with doors removed from large units and all glass doors taped diagonally from corner to corner. A Freon-containing appliance such as a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner is the exception: it has to go out on the same day the household gets vegetation waste collection, placed next to the vegetation pile, and it is the only item allowed beside that pile.Official guidance
At the curb on your weekly bulk day. The city lists televisions with computers, laptops, monitors, printers, scanners, fax machines, gaming systems, telephones, VCR and DVD players and microwaves as e-scrap collected through the bulk service, inside the three item limit for a single family home. More than three items needs a special pickup booked for a fee through customer service, and electronics never belong in the yard waste pile or the garbage can.Official guidance
The city's Public Works Solid Waste division, which runs residential household garbage along with the yard waste and bulk services on pickups scheduled Monday through Saturday, with office hours Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Recycling is the one part that sits outside the city: the bins are provided through the county Solid Waste Authority and collected by Waste Pro. The city publishes a holiday trash schedule, and a missed pickup is reported to customer service on the Solid Waste office number.Official guidance
Single family homes get a weekly bulk day with up to three items at the curb, drawn from the city's named categories including tables and chairs, sofas, gym equipment, mattresses and box springs, large and small appliances and the electronics group. A larger set needs a special pickup scheduled for a fee by emailing public works or calling customer service. Appliances go out with doors removed and glass doors taped diagonally, and a Freon-containing unit goes out on the vegetation day beside the vegetation pile instead.Official guidance
Miscellaneous garbage that belongs in the household can, building materials, commercially generated waste, propane or water tanks and any kind of drum, vehicle equipment, wood fencing, decks and concrete are all refused on the bulk route, and moving boxes are taken only through the one-time courtesy collection after a move. Construction material of any kind is not collected as part of regular service, though the city will take it at an additional fee on request, and hazardous material such as paint, pesticides, oil, batteries and propane tanks is never collected at all.Official guidance
Once a year, typically over a set number of days in April or May before hurricane season. During the amnesty residential customers can place large amounts of vegetation out for collection on their regular yard waste day at no charge, with no size restriction on the pile and the normal over-limit fee waived, which is useful for hurricane preparation. It does not apply to commercial properties or landscape contractors, and the usual rules still hold apart from the size, including one pile in front of the house, bagged clippings, limbs cut to four feet and no mixing with other debris.Official guidance
To a county Home Chemical and Recycling Center, free for Palm Beach County residents. There are seven of them, at the county transfer stations plus the West Palm Beach center at 6161 N Jog Road, and the authority states that there is no curbside collection for household hazardous waste. The city tells residents not to put this material in the brown garbage cart and points them to the authority, and its bulk page names paint, pesticides, oil, batteries and propane tanks among the materials that are not allowed at the curb. The centers take cleaners, aerosols, paints and solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals, automotive fluids, propane cylinders, fluorescent tubes, mercury devices, cooking oil and batteries, with quantity caps on gasoline, oil and bulbs.Official guidance
