The local disposal guide
Carrollton puts large household pieces on the same weekly route as the trash cart. Bulk is defined as appliances, furniture, rugs, mattresses, televisions, tree limbs and fence material, and it goes to the street curb in front of the home, not the alley, on the regular collection day, with a weekly allowance of three cubic yards of bulk and three cubic yards of brush. The city is strict about the window: nothing out before six in the evening on the day before and nothing after half past six on the morning of collection, and a mattress should be wrapped in plastic while sofas and chairs stay assembled. Appliances are on the list too, with stoves and water heaters collected at no additional charge and no call needed, while a refrigerator, freezer, air conditioner or dehumidifier has to be confirmed emptied of its refrigerant by a certified professional before it can go out. Anything the curb route refuses, including electronics, batteries, paint and chemicals, can still be collected at the home through a free appointment under the household hazardous waste and electronics programme, and brick, concrete, tires, propane tanks and construction debris take the trip to Camelot Landfill on a Saturday instead.

The handoff matters
Trash and bulk waste are collected one day each week from Carrollton single-family homes, with the day shown on the city waste services map or confirmed on 972-466-4950. City ordinance wants the material at the designated collection point no earlier than 6 p.m. the evening before and no later than 6:30 a.m. of the collection day, and carts come back off the street no later than 9 a.m. the following day. Bins are placed at least three feet apart and three feet from mailboxes with the lid closed and facing the street, and code violations can be reported on 972-466-3060.

Piles need three feet of clearance from bins, mailboxes, gas meters, fences and parked cars and 16 feet of clearance overhead, and limbs are cut into 4-foot lengths and bundled at no more than 40 pounds.
