The local disposal guide
Issaquah does not run its own trucks. Residents are served by Recology King County, the city says so on its own garbage page, and the bill follows the size of the garbage container while recycling and compost ride along at no extra charge. Anything too large for the bins is a bulky item, and the operator names the big ones directly: sofas and chairs, mattresses and box springs, refrigerators and freezers and washing machines. Those go out by appointment at the curb rather than on a scheduled month, at published rates, and a single family household gets one free pickup a year that can carry two non appliance bulky items. Larger loads and the material the trucks will not take have county routes: Factoria takes garbage, recycling, appliances, tires and household hazardous waste about five miles west, and free E-Cycle Washington sites take the computers and televisions that are banned from the garbage.

Bulky material does not ride the weekly cart in Issaquah. The operator runs an on-call curbside collection for items that do not fit or belong in the bins, and it names sofas and chairs, mattresses and box springs, refrigerators and freezers and washing machines as the kind of load it takes.

Refrigerators, freezers and washing machines are named as bulky items the operator collects, and white goods carry their own published rate line above the general bulky charge. Doors must be removed before the unit goes out.
Electronics are banned from the garbage and from the county transfer stations, but they have free routes. Televisions, computers and monitors ride the state E-Cycle Washington programme at no charge, the Recology Store takes e-waste, and small electronics that fit the size and weight limits are collected at the curb without a fee.
Building material never goes out with a bulky collection. King County accepts construction and demolition debris at its transfer stations for the standard garbage rate with restrictions on how it arrives, and Recology rents debris boxes for remodeling, demolition and land clearing work.
Exercise equipment is not named in the operator's bulky examples, which cover sofas and chairs, mattresses and box springs, refrigerators and freezers and washing machines, and no exercise rate is published, so a treadmill or weight machine has to be confirmed before it is booked.
